Meet the Artist
Elizabeth Faures Rathbone is an award-winning multifaceted artist, quantum energy healer, creative mentor, musician, and entrepreneur.
Her paintings have been internationally recognized and collected throughout her lifetime, with her first solo exhibit being at age fourteen. Claiming painting as her first language, she has explored many different mediums and subject matters throughout her lifelong career. Faures’s interest in the metaphysical can be seen in her work as she bridges the Spiritual and physical aspects of nature and humanity through bold color, strokes, textures, and movement.
“I seek to bring to light the energy behind all that exists… the Spirit that enlivens all matter… the Divinity of life itself” -Faures
Faures grew up in the deep South in Clinton, Louisiana, surrounded by the beauty and wildness of nature.
The wild and unruly breath of the forest in which she was raised has lived on in her paintings throughout the years.
“I never had a moment where I chose to be an artist. I began drawing and painting… always creating… as a young child, and simply never stopped.”
-Faures
“Through my art, I seek to portray both the physical and metaphysical of life… I want to show the energy, the emotion, the magic, and the Spiritual nature behind all we experience.”
Growing up as a self taught artist, Faures then advanced her skills as a painter while studying Art at the University of Mississippi… where she won Best in Show for all Undergraduate and Graduate art students for her Thesis Artshow as an Undergraduate.
Although she got to refine her painting skills learning Old Master techniques as an art student, it was really the Mississippi Blues culture that inspired her work during that time.
After living and creating in the deep Southern states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, Faures then chased her artistic dreams to New York City.. where she was hailed a reigning artist in Bushwick, and up and coming “Women in Art” to watch. Trading the country forest trees for the concrete jungle, Faures was greatly inspired by the brightly colored and bold urban graffiti art.
“I remember being in New York, visiting the PS1 contemporary art museaum, and leaving slightly confused at what i had just seen. Once i exited, i saw the 5 Pointz graffiti building, and was in AWE. That was art to me. That was the art that moved me so deeply in New York… the Art of the Streets.”
Make it stand out.
As her own Spiritual Gifts as an Energy Healer and Channeler began to develop, her art even more merged with the Metaphysical.
Faures’s life then changed drastically as she welcomed in the birth of her daughter, Apoline, and moved back to her roots onto the land where she grew up. While continuing to paint and create.. she also dove deep into her Spiritual Path and hosted Shamans and Artists from around the world onto her sacred land to create and heal.
Faures now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she has a studio gallery in the Marigny on Royal Street. She has shown at the New Orleans Museum of Art as well as frequent showings in her gallery. Faures was just recently commissioned for 41 paintings in Children’s Hospital of New Orleans… where she painted soft and vibrant colorful animals to soothe and inspire the children there.
Along with continuing her life’s work of painting, she offers specialized commissioned portraits. Faures also enjoys writing and playing music, continuing her Priestess trainings and energy work, and creates her own natural skincare line, Fairy Dirty.
Combining her love of Art and Spirituality, Faures also leads the group program “Freeing your Creative Spirit”, where she guides others to heal and unblock through creative exorcises.
